Formed in 2019, Salish Safety delivers high quality, film-fluent, cost-efficient EHS (Environmental - Health - Safety) & Risk Management to BC’s entertainment industry. Founder and Certified Safety Professional, Kristian Martens, brings 20+ years of occupational health & safety, risk management, fire prevention, construction safety, human resource management, first aid (OFA-3), adventure guiding, regulatory compliance (WorkSafeBC, WCB, WSIB, Cal-OSHA) and film production experience to our leadership.
A member of IATSE-891, Kristian and our on-set safety advisors are fluent with Prep, Principal and Post-Production priorities and hazards - and calibrate services for each phase. We’ve supported Features, SVOD/Television series, and Commercials (union & non-union) and scale our services to match production budgets, risk tolerance & hazard level.
OUR NAME acknowledges and respects the diverse Coast Salish peoples upon whose unceded land we are privileged to live, learn, recreate, rest and film upon. A people rich in story, community, beauty and inspiration - where respect for creation and human flourishing are paramount.
